Very Fresh- ‘Americana’ EP Review

When I was first contacted by Cindy Lou Gooden (Very Fresh) about her EP, ‘Americana’ I figured that I would be hearing some ‘Americana’ music but instead I was treated to her alt. pop/ singer songwriter style with some nods to past musical decades.
The 4-tracks that make up this EP are driven by Gooden’s vocals that are like a vocal paintbrush that adds a new stroke to the musical canvas with each new lyric sung.
My favorite track is, “Vestavia Family Dentistry”, an up tempo rocking track that includes both sung and spoken vocals in it. The song does a good job of capturing an underlying quirky side that’s found on her music.
