Music Review for August Premier ‘Happy Miserable’
By C.W. Ross
Continuing the procession of talented Chicago bands is pop punk band August Premier whose music is both energetic and entertaining.
While the band’s been around for awhile with several previous major releases their new 10-track release, ‘Happy Miserable’ marks the band’s debut on Pacific Ridge Records.
The band waste no time coming out of the starting gate hard with the first three opening fast paced pop punk tracks, “Trenches”, “Foo Figgity,” and “Little Girl.”
Other highlight tracks include, “Grey Skies,” a fast paced track filled with rapid fire drum beats and crunching guitar parts. “Remember The Pines,” is a track that has a more Indie rock sound found on it.
The closing track, “Last Word,” really puts an exclamation point on the songs that make up ‘Happy Miserable.’ This track rocks it out big time including a lively guitar solo that’s found on it.

Review Takeaway: Anybody that’s a fan of pop punk music will have an incomplete musical library without August Premier’s ‘Happy Miserable’ in it.
