Artist: Allan Scott Band
Title: ‘Blameless and Free’ EP
Overall Album Vibe: While the band carries his namesake Allan Scott (lead vocals and guitar) is also joined by fellow band members, Ray Ceglar (bass), Hayden Miller (lead guitar and background vocals) and Caleb Bush (drums) who round out the group. Allan Scott is a songwriter and worship leader from State College, Pennsylvania. ‘Blameless and Free’ is the group’s label (RadioActive Entertainment) debut. The EP will be available via digital music outlets on May 15th. The 4-track EP includes two versions, of the song, “Perfect Love,” with one of them being an acoustic mix. The songs were written by Allan Scott along with co-writer Scott Davis (Kutless, Rush of Fools, Jaci Velasquez, Sidewalk Prophets) who also produced the EP and Allen Salmon (Building 429, Starfield, Anthem Lights) who mixed it. The songs found on the EP are all about God’s redemptive power and His unending grace. Scott knows well about those restorative powers having overcome a life of a drug abuser having been in rehab twice and jail once before coming to know the saving power of Jesus in 2001. “We have a heart for worship. We wanted to write songs infused with the message of redemption and grace, songs that speak about God’s ability and the completeness of what Jesus accomplished through his death and resurrection. It’s a message that has affected us at the heart level, and it’s our desire to see this truth flow through our music and into the lives of our listeners,” says Scott. One of the highlight tracks for me, “Perfect Love,” is also the first single from the EP. The up tempo track talks about Christ’ perfect love that lives inside of us that offers a peace like nothing else ever can.
