Overall Album Vibe: The Modern Post is fronted by Deacon Dustin Kensrue (Thrice) and a member of the Mars Hill Church Music family of bands. This new 5-track EP from the band offers up a sound that blends synth heavy New Wave with Indie Rock and Worship music to achieve their end sound. As the EP’s title suggest the songs that make up this EP are filled with lyrics that are all about God’s unending and undeserving grace that He offers to all who desire it. The band does a nice job of reworking classic hymns like, “Just as I Am”, and “Amazing Grace (God of Grace)”, giving them a fresh modern vibe for today’s generation. The EP’s last track,”White as Snow,” brings things to a nice end with its style that starts off with melodic drum and bass parts before picking up the pace ending with a more rocking pace.
Review Tagline: The Modern Post EP, ‘Grace Alone’ offers up music that will be enjoyed by Christians and non-Christians alike with its up-tempo songs that are filled with the message of God’s unending grace for us.
Standout Tracks: “Just as I Am”, “Amazing Grace (God of Grace)”, “White as Snow”
