Westside Band Releases New R&B CD, ‘Chillin’

Established in 1981, on the West side of St. Paul where Robert and Cesar Chavez Streets meet, Westside Band performs regionally and nationally. Westside Band was a 2010 Mid-America Music Hall of Fame inductee and a 1985 Star Search winner. The band also received honors from The Minnesota Music Awards and The Minnesota Black Music Awards.

Westside Band Players:

Junior Trejo – Band leader, Drums, Guitar, Keys, Percussion, Vocals
Polo – Front man, Lead Vocals Chico – Sax, Keys, Vocals
Rick Borr – Keys, Sax. Vocals
Dan Rea – Percussion
PD – Guitar, Trumpet, Vocals
Gerald “King G” Lee – Bass, Keys, Vocals

The band performs inspired covers and originals with a sound like Prince & Santana meet Jerry Lee and the Rolling Stones. They live for live, interactive performance.

The band has recorded several CD projects over the years, and just released a new CD “Chillin” with 4 originals: Chillin, Love You in the Morning, My Lady and Take My Hand.

The CD, recorded with Ben Obi at Savannah Street Music, is available online and at record stores in Minneapolis/St. Paul. It is receiving air play on Twin Cities radio stations. Link to “Take My Hand”

Westside Band is seeking national tour opportunities. The band is able to supply full production/pa/lights if needed, and travels with a tour bus and equipment truck.
