Review for the Debut EP From Alisa Boniello, ‘Lovestruck’

Artist: Alisa Boniello
Title: ‘Lovestruck’ EP

Overall Album Vibe: Alisa Boniello is a classically trained artist with a BA degree in Classical Voice from Hunter College. ‘Lovestruck,’ is the 4-track debut from Boniello. Her music blends elements of pop, dance and soul. As you would expect with her training Boniello’s vocals are spot on and control the flow of the songs. I really enjoyed the up tempo opening title-track, “Lovestruck,” that mixes pop and dance with a heavy dose of retro-soul goodness that gives it a very inviting sound. If you’re looking for something more mellow then give, “Why,” a listen. The melodic track’s theme revolves around all of the why type of questions that run through your mind when a relationship ends. The only real negative I have with this release is the cover artwork that has a ‘anything will work’ look to me. I know that you don’t buy a release for the cover art but still it’s the first thing that catches your eye.

Review Tagline: Alisa Boniello has the chops to make it big on her ‘Lovestruck’ EP.
Standout Tracks: “Lovestruck”, “Why”
