Review for Lea Marie’s Sophomore Release, ‘Undercover Lover’

Artist: Lea Marie
Title: ‘Undercover Lover’

Overall Album Vibe: While Lea Marie is a young adult her very youthful appearance made me cringe a little bit as she sung about very adult subjects. From the pictures found on the CD’s jacket, to the song titles and lyrics the main theme found on her new album is one of love and relationships, including forbidden ones and is oozing with sexual innuendo. Lea Marie classifies her sound as, “an exciting cross between Madonna and Lady Gaga,” that she affectionately calls, “Ma-Gaga.” ‘Undercover Lover’ is Marie’s sophomore release and the follow up to her self-titled debut. Marie is quite the songwriter having written over 200 pop songs already including the 6 that make up this EP.

Review Tagline: If you’re looking for some saucy dance pop music with the occasional piano ballad then Lea Marie’s new release,
‘Undercover Lover,’ is just what you’re looking for.
Standout Tracks: “Take Me for a Ride”, “Undercover Lover”, “Turning Me On”
