Review for Worshipful Indie Rock Band Citizens’ ‘Already Not Yet’ EP

Artist: Citizens
Title: ‘Already / Not Yet’ EP
Website: http://www.Marshillmusic.com

Overall Album Vibe: ‘Already / Not Yet’ is the four tracks EP from worshipful indie rock band Citizens found on new label, Mars Hill Music. Mars Hill Music is made up of a variety of musicians and worship leaders who serve throughout the 14 Mars Hill churches. Things get started with the band’s version of in my opinion one of the best hymns ever wrote, “Amazing Grace.” Every time I hear this song a tear comes to my eyes as I think of how truly unbelievable God’s grace really is for all of us. Citizens does a nice job of keeping true to the original worship style of the song starting off slow and building to a modern worship style as the song progresses. The band also does a nice take on the hymn, “Nothing but the Blood.” Things also end strong with the melodic raw emotions filled track, “Oh God.” Also be on the lookout in the fall (October) for a full-length release from the band.

Review Tagline: As soon as the music starts playing on Citizen’s, ‘Already / Not Yet’ EP you can feel the band’s passion flowing out of your speakers.
Standout Tracks: “Amazing Grace”, “Nothing but the Blood” “Oh God”
