Overall Album Vibe:

I’m one of the few people who have never seen the entire Dirty Dancing movie but l remember hearing several of the hit songs that the movie’s soundtrack spawned. This deluxe 25th anniversary edition is a must have for any fans of the movie. Besides the music CD that includes all 12 songs from the movie you’ll also find a set of 6 ready-to-frame collector photo cards that are taken from the movie along with a dirty dancing bumper sticker and a booklet that includes behind-the-scene liner notes written by the song producers. The release also comes in what looks like a hardcover book from the outside that holds everything very neatly and well protected from damage inside.

Even though I’m not a member of the cultic following that loves this movie I can appreciate the songs from it found on the CD. A lot of the music has a 50’s / 60’s sock hop vibe. Some of my favorite tracks include the Bill Medley & Jennifer Warren love song track, “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life,” the 1960’s tracks, “Be My Baby,” by The Ronettes, “Stay,” by Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs and “Hey Baby,” by Bruce Channel. Along with the 1950’s do-wop hit, “In the Still of the Night,” by the Five Satins. Original track, “Hungry Eyes,” by Eric Carmen also hits a good pop music note.

Review Tagline: While being a big fan of the movie might make you’ll enjoy this 25th anniversary music package for the movie’s soundtrack more all that you really need to be is a fan of good music.

Standout Tracks: “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life”, “Be My Baby”, “Hungry Eyes”, “Stay”, Hey Baby”, “In the Still of the Night”,
