Artist: Bobby Jo Valentine
Overall Album Vibe:
San Fransisco based artist Bobby Jo Valentine is an award winning singer songwriter with a heart for helping others. That includes working with non profits organizations like, No Malaria, Believe Out Loud, National Children’s Alliance and Family Promise.
‘Home,’ is Valentine’s 2nd album and the follow up to his 2011 debut album, ‘A Place to Belong.’ The pop rock styled songs that make up, ‘Home,’ are filled with honest messages about life’s day-to-day struggles including relationships from a mostly optimistic viewpoint. The album was produced by Calvin Turnbull (Sheryl Crow, Five For Fighting).
Valentine says that, ‘Home,’ is his first, ‘big boy album.’ Adding that, “…I’m finally starting to figure out things and be comfortable with who I am as a songwriter and my role on this planet.”
Highlight tracks found on the album include, “Come Back to Bed,” a love commitment up tempo rocker. “A Hand to Hold,” a track that offers up a folk edged sound with just a hint of alt. country thanks to the steel pedal part that’s found on it.
‘Home,’ also ends strong with the track, “Save What You Can,” another up tempo piano, organ and whistle filled song.
Standout Tracks: “Come Back to Bed”, “A Hand to Hold”, “Save What You Can”,
