Formed in 2010 and described by Uber Rock writer Jason Daniel Baker as “Siouxsie Sioux meets Motorhead”, Canadian-based band Psycho Mad Sally fuses the rock guitar of Romanian-born axeman Andrei Sin with the vocals of Russian spoken word performer and energy spitfire Sasha Nevskaya. Backed by former Rusty/Bootsauce drummer John Lalley and bassist Max Morin, P.M.S. is a truly unique band, incorporating elements of gypsy music, hardcore punk and of course, pure heavy metal.
Two releases to date:
In 2013 released “How II Survive”. Recorded with Sean Gregory at TRH Studios in Scarborough (Hail The Villain, Warmachine)
In 2011 released “30 Days (to Pay the Rent)”. Self-made recording, received very positive feedback, songs are featured on several podcasts and various compilations.
Psycho Mad Sally are taking part in The Battle For Wacken Canada, and they have qualified to proceed to Round Two, the Toronto semi-finals. The next shows will be held April 26 at the Hard Luck Bar and on May 3rd at the Rivoli, both in Toronto. Two bands will be chosen which will then battle on June 7 at the Toronto’s Opera House with bands from across Canada. The ultimate winner will represent Canada at the Wacken Open Air Festival, in Germany this August.
PMS is hard at work on a next batch of new material with pre-production work well underway. They are also hoping to participate in upcoming Canadian festivals such as: North-by-North East, Indie Week and the S.C.E.N.E. Fest.
