Do you like your music with some motorcycle sounds and the smell of exhaust fumes? Then have I got the event for you to attend. Happening this year from June 25th – 28th is, ‘Thunder in the Valley.’ The yearly event which got it’s start back in 1998 and drew 5,000 people now boost crowds of 200,000 although I think that number is a bit exaggerated and actually closer to 100,000 which for a small sleepy town of 25,000 is still a big crowd.
What started out as mainly a downtown Johnstown, PA. event has over the years spread out to include neighbouring communities. While the main focus of the event is bikes there is also big elements of good food and musicial entertainment that’s also found at the event. The music part of it is almost entirely free to enjoy.
The are several stages set up around town for the event so no matter whether your in the mood for some outlaw country, folk rock or name your favorite style of music you’ll probably find it at Thunder in the Valley.
The event is billed as family friendly and for the most part that’s exactly what it is with things pretty tame. There is a camping area away from the main event at a local park on the outskirts of town where you can camp out if your in the mood to raise a little bit of hell.
So if your in the Pennsylvania area and looking for some good food, cool bikes and great music then stop by Thunder in the Valley there’s something for you to do whether you own a motorcycle or not.
