Thursday night the Texas Longhorns softball team kept their perfect record (20-0) of opening home game wins alive with a win over rival Arkansas.
Left handed pitching ace Tiarra Davis got the start for Texas and held Arkansas to only one run and five hits going the entire game in a 126 pitches effort for the win.
The stars of the game on the hitting side for the Longhorns were freshman player, Reagan Hathaway, junior transfer Celina Felix along with senior Stephanie Ceo.
The game was a pitching duel until the bottom of the 4th inning when Texas scored one run. Arkansas answered in the top of the 6th with a run of their own to tie up the game. But Texas broke the game open in the bottom of the 6th scoring 3 more runs. Arkansas couldn’t answer when a short lived rally fell flat in the top of the 7th inning with the game ending in a 4-1 win for Texas.
Although Texas didn’t have a perfect game they played good and should have a productive season in 2016.
