College Softball Wrap Up

With the season winding down and the conference championships getting ready to start next month it’s time for teams to make their final runs at getting in position to win a championship this year.

Florida reclaimed their #1 ranking with a 3 game sweep over LA. Lafayette, 5-1, 14-1(5), 3-0. The team’s combined pitching staff has a remarkable 0.84 era.

Auburn continues to roll along including crushing Arkansas, 21-0(5), 23-0(5), and 10-0(5). With all that power and a equally effective pitching staff Auburn looks in good shape to take a good run at dethroning back-to-back champions Florida this year.

Alabama continues their winning ways also taking two of three games in their recent series against Texas A&M wining the first two games of the series, 8-3 and 8-7 before getting blowed out 1-14 in the last game.

Kentucky continues to surprise me and a lot of other people with their winning ways sweeping LSU and taking two out of three against Missouri. Once again pitching is leading the way with star starter’s Nunley and Prince.

Tennessee seems to be coming together and playing well at the right time. They completed a sweep over Texas A&M and took two out of three from Georgia.

Texas has been heading in the wrong direction lately getting swept by rival Big12 school Oklahoma, 8-9, 3-5 and 3-5.
